Welcome to Counselling Plus Community

Established in 1992, we have maintained our original ethos of offering affordable counselling and removing blocks to professional therapy.  The service is mainly for residents of Hastings & Rother -  but some funding allows us to support clients across East Sussex.

We recognise that it may be daunting for clients to look for a private counsellor.  At Counselling Plus, we offer the reassurance and support of an established, reputable and highly effective service.

Supporting our efforts of full-inclusivity, we are able to offer the following structure.  All options can be discussed during the assessment, this will help us to understand your situation and give you relevant information about therapy.

We offer a full assessment before placing you with a suitable counsellor.  There is no charge for the assessment.

We are moving

We are thrilled to announce that from 1st September 2026 we will be based at St Nicholas Centre (FSN), 66 London Road, St. Leonards, TN37 6AS, where we will continue to offer the same services alongside new colleagues.
  • Our new premises will provide disability access and additional on-road parking.
  • All counsellors and staff will continue in our new premises.
  • All contact details will remain the same.

Further information will be provided in due course to ensure all our clients are fully supported during this transition.

Co-locating with FSN will create a strong foundation for closer collaboration, enabling both services to strengthen their well-established offer of mental health support. Counselling Plus (CPC) will continue to provide effective therapy for young people and adults and the move will provide a secure base to develop further provision.

Due to NHS funding cuts we now offer the following model:

Affordable Counselling - £40 per session

This option is aimed at clients who are able to pay £40 per session.

  • Many clients appreciate the opportunity to support a local charity. By paying for your sessions, you will be helping us to be here for others as well.
  • We are also able to offer online sessions for those living outside of Hastings & Rother at £40.

Reduced fees - £15-£35 per session

This option is for residents of Hastings & Rother who are on low-incomes or benefits and can be fully discussed during the assessment.

Funded sessions

We work hard to secure grants to work with some clients and may be able to offer funded sessions if you meet the criteria.  This can be discussed during your assessment, and you will be told if we can offer you funded sessions.

Couple Counselling - £50 per session

However we offer sessions, we are always happy to receive additional donations to ensure our continuity.
